East Devon civic service to commemorate the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
A civic church service of commemoration and thanksgiving for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held in Sidmouth.
The service will be held on Sunday, 18 September, from 6pm at The Parish Church of St Giles and St Nicholas, Sidmouth, EX10 8LG.
The service, being held by East Devon District Council and the Diocese of Exeter, will be led by Reverend Matt Selman and will include hymns, songs from a choir, bible readings, prayers and a blessing. The service will be concluded with the national anthem.

The dress code is lounge suit or uniform. There is also no parking at the church, so please use public parking.

East Devon to join National Moment of Reflection, paying respect to The Queen
A moment of reflection will be held on Sunday, 18th September at 8pm.
East Devon residents have been invited to take part on a national minute's silence to mourn the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
The country will stand as one on Sunday, 18 September, at 8pm, observing a one minute silence, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
Bank Holiday Monday: Bins to be collected one day later next week across East Devon
Recycling and waste collections will be one day later next week with no service on the day of The Queen's funeral (Monday, 19 September).

Bank Holiday: LED leisure centres will be closed
All LED leisure centres across East Devon will close for the Bank Holiday Monday (19 September), the day of The Queen's funeral.
Centres will reopen as normal the following the day.

Homeless and repairs team running all weekend for emergencies
Anyone with a homelessness emergency can contact the council by calling the Home Safeguard team on 0330 678 2381.
During working hours you can report a repair by contacting EDDC on 01395 517458.
Outside of work hours, if you have a real emergency repair (such as a burst pipe or no electricity) you can report these by ringing the Home Safeguard team on 0330 678 2382.
EDDC's Home Safeguard will be running as normal.
Proclamation: East Devon has announced the accession of new Monarch
EDDC's Chief Executive Mark Williams, EDDC's Chair Councillor Ian Thomas and Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, representing the Lord Lieutenant.
A district proclamation to formally announce the accession of His Majesty, King Charles III was held at EDDC's Honiton headquarters at Blackdown House on Monday, 12 September.
EDDC's Chair, Councillor Ian Thomas, read the proclamation before leading a two minute silence and the singing of the national anthem. The Union Flag outside the Honiton headquarters was raised for the duration of the proclamation and the event coincided with all the district proclamations across Devon.
Condolence books are available to sign across East Devon
The book of condolence at EDDC's office Blackdown House in Honiton.
Residents wishing to leave a message in a condolence book can do so online through The Royal Family website or in person across East Devon.
This includes at the EDDC's offices at Blackdown House in Border Road, Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton, EX14 1EJ from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday and between 10am and 1pm on weekends. Free parking is available at the Honiton offices during opening hours.
Books of condolences have also been provided at each of the town council's offices across the district:
Anyone unable to sign a book in person or online can call 01404 515616 and leave a message and a member of staff will add the message to the online book of condolence.
Floral tributes to Her Majesty the Queen
Public tributes to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II can be left at the following locations across the district:
- The Green at Budleigh Salterton
- The Strand – Exmouth, around/in front of the war memorial
- Front of Blackdown House - Honiton – paved area
- Seaton –Windsor Gardens lawn

Council meetings postponed until after national mourning period
All council meetings have been cancelled until after the national period of mourning, out of respect for The Queen's passing.
