    Working draft of new Local Plan is considered by committee

    Local Plans

    Over a number of meetings starting in December last year, the council's Strategic Planning Committee considered a working draft Local Plan.

    This plan has set the suggested policy approaches to a range of subject matters and it is now to be worked up into a proposed consultation draft plan.

    Neighbourhood Planning update

    Neighbourhood planning in East Devon

    There continues to be significant neighbourhood planning activity across the district, with 23 plans now adopted (‘made’). The latest plan to be made was for the parish of Colyton, in January of this year.

    The next plan to be recommended to be made will be for the parish of Dalwood, following the overwhelming support this plan received from the community at the local referendum on 24th February 2022.

    Proposed changes to the Cranbrook Plan

    Residents have recently had their say on proposed changes to the Cranbrook Plan.

    The Cranbrook Plan identifies sites in the town and the surrounding areas which will be used for housing and employment developments, as well as facilities like new schools, sport areas and community buildings.
