The Chancellor announced yesterday that additional support is being made available for businesses who have been impacted by the Omicron variant. This will include new funding for two grants schemes, where grant funds will be issued to eligible businesses via local authorities.
The Government have announced £683m of funding for local authorities to issue grants of up to £6,000 to ratepaying businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors.

Recipients must be solvent businesses, and ratepayers in the hospitality and leisure sector. For example, a pub, hotel, restaurant, bar, cinema or amusement park.
The grants will be administered by Local Authorities and as soon as Government Guidance is received we will be putting a scheme in place so payments can be made as quickly as possible to eligible businesses in the New Year.

The Government have also announced a further £102m of discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) funding for local authorities.
As soon as updated Government Guidance is received we will explore options to support the payment of these grants to those eligible businesses most in need as quickly as possible in the New Year.

Further measures announced by the Chancellor yesterday include:
- £30m of additional funding for the Culture Recovery Fund, enabling more cultural organisations in England to apply for support during the winter
- Government will also cover the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for Covid-related absences for small and medium-sized employers across the UK
