Macmillan coffee morning kickstarts sheltered housing events
More than £100 was raised at a coffee morning in Exmouth organised by council housing officers.
Tenants enjoyed lovely homemade cakes, a stupendous raffle, a quiz and in house entertainment at Bidmead Community Centre on Tuesday, 5 October.
Since the beginning of the first lockdown in March 2020, most community centres have remained closed and this event kick starts a number of events organised by EDDC's mobile support officers, which many tenants have missed so much.
Tenant Heather Prowse said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed it, it is so lovely seeing other people again, the atmosphere generated was fantastic and I would encourage all to take the plunge and support all future events."
Heather Goodman, another tenant, added: “I am really looking forward to the next one and especially the Christmas Party. A lot of effort goes into organising these events and they deserve support”
The coffee morning raised a total of £106.32 for Macmillan’s great work in supporting people living with cancer by providing physical, emotional and financial support to enable people to live their lives as fully as possible.
Big tanks to everyone who attended.

Honiton 'wilding project': Hedgehog family to get new home
This small piece of green space in Honiton is going to be 'wilded' with bug hotels, a compost bin and other goodies.
This is being headed up by a small group of residents in Brand Road with the help of our Streetscene officers. The area already has a hedgehog family living in it, who we aren’t currently charging rent!
Watch this space for more after pictures, coming shortly.
