Over 100 representatives of voluntary organisations and community groups attended East Devon District Council’s annual ‘Working Together for the Future of East Devon’ event, held at Knowle, Sidmouth on Friday 29 September 2017. The event broadly aims to improve communications between the voluntary and statutory sectors. Find out more



Tree owners and contractors please stop, think and check before carrying out tree work 

Do you know if the trees in your garden are covered by any form of protection?

After a recent court case where an East Devon resident was ordered to pay a total of £3,489 for felling a tree covered by a Tree Preservation Order, we are asking residents and businesses to Stop, Think and Check before carrying out any tree works on any tree. Find out more




The Parishes Together Fund can make dreams a reality for town’s and parishes across East Devon

Designed to provide financial solutions to local community issues, the Parishes Together Fund is a joint East Devon District Council and Devon County Council initiative. The sum of £1.10 per elector - £1 from Devon County Council and 10p from EDDC - is put into a pot which parish or town councils can apply for, up to their maximum allocation based on the numbers of electors they have. There is a total of over £124,000 for the financial year 2017/2018, so we are keen to receive applications. Find out more

The clock is ticking for East Devon residents to have their say on how much the council should pay towards the council tax bills of working age householders on low incomes who live in the district. Don't miss the Sunday 22 October deadline for responses. Find out more



East Devon Parks New Heritage Trail telling the story of eight parks and gardens          

A unique heritage trail which captures the history of eight much-loved East Devon parks and gardens is now open for the public to enjoy. Helped by a £9,500 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, interpretation panels have been installed at each site detailing historic information pieced together by local communities and schools.
