Remembrance Sunday Service in Northernhay Gardens
Remembrance Sunday
Exeter’s Remembrance Sunday Service will take place in Northernhay Gardens, with music being provided by the Salvation Army Band and the Salamanca Band and Bugles of The Rifles.
Members of the public are requested to arrive at 10.30am. At 10.40am, the Lord Mayor’s procession led by the Salamanca Band will leave Exeter’s historic Guildhall in the High Street, and travel to Northernhay Gardens.
There will be a two-minutes silence at 11am followed by the laying of wreaths.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday Devon County Service is to take place at Exeter Cathedral at 4pm on Sunday 10 November.
Everyone is invited to attend the special service, which is taking place at a later time to enable as many people as possible to gather from across the county.
It will be accompanied by music from Exeter Cathedral Choir and attended by military and veteran associations.
During the Remembrance service, commemorative wreaths will be passed to the Dean of Exeter, then placed in the Cathedral’s Devon and Dorset Regimental Chapel, before being laid at the War Memorial on Cathedral Green, on Remembrance Day.
