Bin collections following Spring Bank Holiday will be one day later than normal
Changes to bin collection days following Spring Bank Holiday
People in Exeter are being reminded about changes to bin collection dates following next week’s Spring Bank Holiday.
Waste and recycling collections carried out by Exeter City Council’s crews will take place one day later than normal after Spring Bank Holiday Monday (28 May) and on the following days during that week.
This means that collections that were due on Bank Holiday Monday will now take place on Tuesday 28 May. For those whose bins were due to be collected on Tuesday 28 May, the collection will now be on Wednesday 29 May.
This pattern – which takes place following bank holidays – will continue throughout the week, so that the last delayed collection will see bins that should have been collected on Friday 31 May now collected a day later on Saturday 1 June.
Collections will be back to normal on Monday 3 June.

Jazz on the Quay is one of the events coming to Exeter this summer
Enjoy a sizzling summer of fun in Exeter
Exeter is the place to be this summer with so much going on across the city.
Whether it’s a splash in one of Exeter’s water parks, a stroll down at the Quay, or history and pageantry in the city centre, there’s something for everyone.
It all gets underway this bank holiday weekend with the ever-popular water-play facilities opening up across the city.
With the weather warming up, the paddling pools at Heavitree Pleasure Ground and the Splashpad at St Thomas Pleasure Ground will be opening on Friday ahead of the long weekend. The water-play facilities will be open from 10am to 7pm.
The Splashpad was fitted with a newly improved spongy safety surface last year. Children can enjoy the fun water park with its colourful play area and jets of water.
There's so much more going on throughout the city this summer.
