RAMM has commissioned a work by acclaimed contemporary artist Joy Gregory. The piece will be displayed as part of an exhibition, opening in October 2020, which will explore how the transatlantic slave trade and its legacy permeates Devon and Exeter’s social infrastructure to this day.

"Here's to thee Old Apple Tree," we declaim to the apple tree, every year on Old Twelfth Night, as part of traditional wassail celebrations. But who else takes part in cider-making? Join us for a new type of wassail that celebrates microbial ecology.

A celebration of the abstract work of the distinguished West Country artist Brian Rice. His paintings and prints have been featured in almost 200 group exhibitions and 35 solo exhibitions.

This vibrant and intriguing contemporary art exhibition explores the female-gendered relationship with the sea and seaweed. 'Sea Garden' brings together RAMM's first South West Commission, a moving-image work by Bryony Gillard, alongside works by internationally-renowned contemporary artists.

The Lost Words is a unique collaborative project between writer Robert Macfarlane and artist Jackie Morris. Taking the form of both an exhibition and a book published by Hamish Hamilton, The Lost Words celebrates the relationship between language and the living world, and of nature’s power to spark the imagination.

What Do You Collect? After 20 years together, a husband and wife arrived home separately one day with unexpected presents for each other. Unknowingly, each had chosen to buy the other a set of salt and pepper pots. These quirky gifts were the start of a collection that has now grown to include more sets than they have years together.

Seaweed pressings and prints by Jo Crook - A seemingly endless variety of shape, size, form, texture and colour can be seen in her seaweed pressings and prints. Individual specimens are carefully arranged and pressed on to fine art watercolour paper, or digitally preserved as giclée prints. Displayed in the Cafe at RAMM. On sale in the Shop at RAMM.
