Meet Eastbourne's new waste and recycling service

Residents are invited to meet the team behind Eastbourne’s new waste contract, which comes into force in July.

The waste service will move from Kier to Environment First, under a new company controlled by Eastbourne Borough Council.

The event, at the Town Hall on Wednesday 29 May, runs between 12 noon and 7pm and will be an opportunity for residents to talk about the forthcoming changes and the future of waste and recycling in Eastbourne. There is no need to book a place, just drop in anytime.

Recycling made easier

From 1 July residents will be able to put glass in their main recycling wheelie bin. The existing glass boxes can be kept for use in your home, garden or garage, or can be dropped off at the household waste recycling centre in St Philip’s Avenue.

Waste satisfaction survey

From 24 May to 28 June, residents are also invited to complete a waste satisfaction survey at www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/wasteandrecycling

The online survey aims to find out how satisfied residents were with the service they received over the last 12 months.

The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete and will help the council to understand if the service could be improved in the future.
