We wrote to you on 8 March 2024 about the Multi-Agency Adult Support and Protection File Audit. This is a further update on where we are at in the Audit process as part of continuous improvement in 'Protecting People' in East Ayrshire.

The Multi-Agency ASP Audit Co-ordinating Group (ACG) has overseen the file audit planning and implementation.
File readers completed the Audit Template in the week of 11 March 2024 and did this in a shorter timescale than expected.
Focus Group sessions took place in late March/early April 2024. The Audit has now concluded and those involved took part in a feedback session on 7 May 2024 at St. Kentigerns Church, Kilmarnock. Thank you to everyone that contributed.

All Public Protection partners have been involved in the Audit, including:
- East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (lead agency)
- EAC Housing and Communities
- NHS Ayrshire and Arran including Public Health Department
- Police Scotland
- Scottish Fire and Rescue
- East Ayrshire Advocacy Services

The final Self-Evaluation Report will be presented to the Adult Protection Committee at it's meeting on 21 May 2024.
The Report will then go on to the Chief Officers' Group.
Findings from the Audit will inform the ASP Improvement Plan 2025 - 2027 and the APC Chairs Biennial Report which is due to be with Scottish Government in October 2024.

We will send out a final briefing with a summary of our findings in June 2024.
