Join us for an Archaeological Dig in Mauchline!

Hello Mauchline Community, Friends & Partners,

We are happy to invite you to our upcoming Archaeological Fieldwork hosted by our partners Andy, Rebecca and Kieran from Archaeology Scotland. Digs will be held from 10am-4pm from Monday 15th - Thursday 18th April, no experience is necessary and all tools and equipment will be provided. Please dress accordingly with waterproofs, sturdy boots and plenty of layers also!

Historic Boxworks Land

When:

10am- 4pm, Monday 15th - Thursday 18th April

(Please note Wednesday will be a closed dig for the young people at School to join.)

Location:

Behind Fire Station/off Greenhead

Activities:

Excavation of one trench and if time allows building recording of garage.

Reason:

Explore the last piece of green space that may reveal part of the footprint of the Mauchline-ware boxworks factory

If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place or would like to only join us as a spectator please feel free to come along on any day that suits.
