East Ayrshire Council understands that for most businesses, the process and cost of taking on a new employee can be an expensive and difficult undertaking. We offer a range of support to local companies to help you find the right people and to ensure those people have the right skills.

We can help your business find the right people to support your future growth. We will help with recruitment and pre-employment training and can arrange work trials and work experience to ensure the potential employee is the right person for your business.
East Ayrshire Recruitment Incentive grant
The East Ayrshire Recruitment Incentive Grant can support private and third sector employers with a grant of up to £5,000 towards the costs of recruiting and employing an East Ayrshire resident who meets eligibility criteria.
Your business can use the funding to recruit an employee for a new job or a modern apprenticeship, and you can also use it to cover costs such as wages, training and travel.
Eligible jobs will:
- offer a minimum of 26 weeks employment/52 weeks apprenticeship
- guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week
- provide a contract of employment
- ensure employees are paid at National Minimum/Living Wage or preferably at the Real Living Wage rate
