This file audit is part of East Ayrshire's continuous improvement journey in working together to our vision of 'Protecting People'
This describes how we work in partnership in 'safeguarding' activity to keep people safe by preventing harm as well as protecting people where harm occurs.
Multi-Agency file audit is an integral element of multi-agency self-evaluation and our overall commitment to the continuous improvement across partners involved in 'Protecting People'.

Since December 2023 we've had a Multi-Agency ASP Audit Coordinating Group (ACG) in place to plan and oversee the file audit. This group has met fortnightly.
It has put in place a protocol for undertaking the file audit in line with information governance principles. The group's protocol provides a framework to evidence the quality of our work to protect people and to assure Chief Officers and the Adult Protection Committee of the impact of that work.
File readers have been identified across services in January 2024 with training planned for the first week of March 2024. The file audit is expected to start on 11 March 2024.
The file audit will support shared learning from current good practice and planning for further improvement as required. A detailed action plan with key deadlines is monitored by the group.

A sample of files will be selected for audit and the multi-agency team will read and assess practice against quality indicators.
Following this, there will be a number of focus group meetings to consider findings and any immediate learning.
Reporting of the outcome of the file audit is planned for early May 2024.
