DVSA’s commitment to making digital improvements in HGV testing is taking yet another step forwards.
After the success of including image capture of dangerous defects within the Vehicle Testing App (VTA), we have now gone further with the video capture of defect evidence. Testers can now capture up to 10 seconds of video recording for dangerous defects when images alone do not clearly show the issue.
VSAs will take a video of dangerous defects using the in-app camera within the VTA which records every test.
The video(s) will be securely attached to a vehicle’s test record on DVSA’s internal Vehicle Testing Management platform (VTM).
Videos will only be viewable to VSAs for the duration of the retest period.
By capturing videos of dangerous defects, we aim to reduce the response time on disputes and appeals, helping us to provide a more transparent and efficient service to you.
