Vehicle testing advice is moving to GOV.UK

DVSA is changing where vehicle testing advice can be accessed. This will be moved from the MTS (MOT testing service) and onto a separate page on GOV.UK.

The testing advice for specific vehicles: guidance for MOT testers is live now on GOV.UK, so you can see changes we’ve made ahead of removing the current vehicle testing data in MTS in early July.

The update follows feedback from testers. The new page provides clearer information that is easier to use.

Our new Matters of Testing blog post explains the changes:

  • advice is reviewed by technical experts and updated when manufacturers send new information
  • advice is clearer, more relevant and more succinct
  • advice is available to everyone  – not just those logged into MTS

Share your feedback on the new page

We are seeking your feedback on the updates, which we’ll use to improve the service over time.
