Dangerous goods vehicles: MOT and ADR test guidance update

DVSA has updated the guidance for testing dangerous goods vehicles on GOV.UK.

The changes will make it easier for you to find the information you need to book essential MOT and ADR tests.

Important changes

We have updated the following:

  • advice on how to book an ADR is clearer, with links to all forms
  • guidance for booking tests is more accessible – it is no longer in a PDF
  • advice on which test centre to use has been updated
  • information on fees is now on one page
  • clarification on booking a retest for an ADR

Finally, we have clarified that an ADR certificate might expire on a different date to an MOT certificate. Vehicles must not be used to transport dangerous goods if the ADR certificate has expired.
