The code of practice is used by DVSA examiners carrying out weight checks using the following methods:
- single and multi-plate weighbridges
- other non-dynamic weighing equipment
- dynamic axle weighers (including in static mode)
- portable weighpads
We've made changes to the code in a number of areas.
They are:
- updates to legislative references
- the introduction of self-verification as an option for weighbridge sites - already widely used across other sectors of industry
- changes to allow an authorised enforcement examiner to measure the suitability of a temporary site for weighing using portable weighpads
