We have asked testing equipment manufacturers to develop software updates to better meet brake testing requirements. These are now ready and available to customers.
We are now asking ATFs to obtain these software updates to ensure their brake testing device meets the highest standards by 31 December 2023.
You should ask your brake tester provider to ensure they install the required software update. This could be done during the six-monthly calibration.
Following the update, some vehicles will take less time to test due to the ability to amend the systems before the test starts.
