Following the Welsh First Minister’s review on 12 March, we have worked with the Welsh Government and stakeholders to agree restart dates of all our driver and rider services in Wales.
The dates are the same as the indicative restart dates for England and will go ahead if the public health position remains favourable in Wales.
We wanted to provide you with these dates as quickly as we possible to help you plan for reopening your businesses and to start teaching again in Wales.
If the public health position remains favourable bus lessons and tests will restart on 29 March 2021.
This is with the exception of minibus tests which will restart on 12 April.
Lorry driving lessons and tests will restart on Monday 12 April 2021. It is planned that car and trailer lessons and tests will also restart on his date.
We have shared our guidance for vocational examiners with the driver training associations and they have updated their good practice guidance for instructors.

Home tests, including tractor tests, and Mod 4 CPC tests, from 29 March if the public health position remains favourable in Wales.
In-vehicle and third-party classroom-based Driver CPC training can restart from 12 April 2021.
We'll email candidates with tests booked before the proposed restart dates to let them know their test won’t go ahead and it will be automatically rebooked.
If you have booked a test for any of your pupils during this period of restrictions, it will be cancelled, and you will be automatically refunded.
Welsh Government has confirmed that theory tests can restart in Wales on 12 April 2021.
We’ll email all candidates with theory tests booked before 12 April to ask them to reschedule their test.
Booked practical and theory mobile emergency worker tests will take place as scheduled.
We’re working with both the English and Scottish Governments on restarting lessons driver and rider services. We’ll keep you updated as these plans develop.
