The Welsh Government has announced it will be introducing a “fire-break” to help regain control of coronavirus. This means that a series of restrictive measures will be in place from 6pm Friday 23 October until the start of Monday 9 November 2020.
We will continue to keep the situation under review in line with government advice.
The Welsh Government has announced that during these dates, driving lessons should not take place.
Your pupils can still have private practise using their own car as long as they and the supervising driver are from the same household and it is part of an essential journey.
Further to the announcement from the Welsh Government, all driving tests in Wales will be suspended from 6pm Friday 23 October and will restart again on Monday 9 November 2020.
This includes ADI part 2 and 3 tests and standards checks.
We are emailing everyone with a test booked from Saturday 24 October until Saturday 7 November in Wales to let them know it will be rescheduled to a new time and date.
We are emailing candidates with a test booked from Friday 23 October until Monday 9 November in Wales to let them know it has been rescheduled to a new time and date.
If you have booked a test for any of your pupils during these dates, you will receive an email asking them to reschedule their test. You will need to contact your pupil to agree when to reschedule their test to.
If the new time and date isn’t suitable for you or your pupil, you can choose a new time and date on GOV.UK. You will need your pupils driving licence number to do this. Your pupil does not need to pay again to do this.
If your pupils live close to the Welsh border they should not travel out of Wales to take a driving test. If they travel out of Wales to come to their driving test our examiners will not be able to test them.
If you live in Wales but your pupil does not, you will need to follow the Welsh government guidance on traveling and work.
These measures mean all theory tests will be suspended from 6pm Friday 23 October and will restart again on Monday 9 November 2020.
This also includes ADI part 1 tests.
We are emailing everyone with a test booked from Friday 23 October up to Monday 9 November in Wales to let them know their test has been put on hold.
You or your pupil will need to log into the service and rearrange their theory test for a new time and date.
