Coronavirus: New requirement for HGVs entering the UK

We are contacting you to update you on entry requirements for those travelling back into the UK from overseas.

Passenger Locator Form

From yesterday (8 June), if you are travelling into the UK from overseas, you must complete the Passenger Locator Form before you arrive. This is to support the Government’s efforts to tackle the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The completed form must be shown when you arrive at the UK border either by printing a copy, or showing it on your phone.

The form must be completed by all drivers entering the UK from overseas, including British nationals and those driving UK-registered vehicles. A new form must be completed for each journey into the UK.

You do not need to complete the form if you’re travelling from Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

More information can be found here: www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

14 Day Self-isolation

People arriving in the UK on or after 8 June 2020 will also need to self-isolate for 14 days, unless they are exempt.

Drivers of goods vehicles and other employees of community licence holders for the international carriage of goods are exempt, and will not need to self-isolate.

You may need to show that your travel is part of your job, for example a letter from your employer, a consignment note or your operator’s licence.

You still need to follow the same rules as people who live in the UK, even if you’re exempt from self-isolating for 14 days after you arrive.
