- Celebrate the Festival of Lights with a fun and creative Diwali Collage Craft Activity on Saturday 18 October. Sessions run hourly from 11am to 3pm so you can join at a time that suits you. Charges apply
- Inspired by the vibrant patterns of Rangoli and the glowing beauty of Diya lanterns, children can design and decorate their very own light catcher to take home. Using a variety of colourful collage materials, every creation will be as unique as the child who makes it
- Cobweb and Spider Glass workshop on Sunday 26 October from 11am to 12noon. Make your own spooky glass art with artist Terri Malcolm in this creative workshop. Charges apply

Festival of Light - Saturday 18 October from 5pm to 9pm. Join the Black Country Living Museum on Saturday 18 October for an unforgettable evening as the Museum comes alive with the vibrant sights, sounds, and spirit of Diwali at Festival of Light
- Feel the rhythm with live music and dance from the heart of our 1940s–60s town to every corner of the Museum as they light up their historic streets
- Witness a dazzling lantern procession as it illuminates the night and winds its way through their historic cobbled streets in a brilliant display of light and colour
- Get creative with Rangoli workshops and help our artist craft stunning floral masterpieces, take part in cultural crafts, discover beautiful light installations illuminating the Museum grounds, alongside your usual favourite Museum fittle you can tuck into authentic South Asian cuisine as local vendors serve up mouth-watering dishes, and explore interactive lessons about Diwali in St. James’ School

- Abraham Babajide Cole is a Nigerian-born multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, textile printmaking, illustration, and digital design. Rooted in visual storytelling, his work draws from nature, cultural memory, antiques, and the layered experiences of migration, identity, and the human condition
- His upcoming exhibition, Bound by Roots, Divided by Paths (Dudley Community Library, October 1–31, 2025), continues this exploration by engaging with stories of resilience, belonging, and migration. Through paintings, drawings, interactive sculpture, and participatory workshops, Cole invites audiences into a community conversation on identity and coexistence

- Join us this Haunted Halloween for our spook-tacular Monster Halloween Party
- This is the most unique family friendly adventure in the Black Country. With crafts, creatures and a floating party, this is a Halloween evening you won’t forget
- Each year our ghostly friends throw the Wildest Halloween Party this side of the afterlife, and this year you’re all invited
- Board your floating carriage and join our crew as we embark on a family-friendly journey to the party of the year. We’ll need your help in picking up all the monsters and getting them to the Monster Mash Party, from witches to trolls, they’re all invited and so are you!

- New for 2025, will be ‘Haunted Hunters’ a fangtastic bird of prey display in the eerie undercroft of the 11th century castle
- Elsewhere on site, visitors will be urged to turn detective to help solve a terrible crime as they navigate clues around the zoo’s spooky 40-acres and can hop on board the ghost train up to Castle Creatures to see creepy critters including bats and rats and take part in Halloween crafts
- With castle history and ghost talks running throughout the day visitors can find out more about those who once lived within the castle’s walls – which is reported to be one of the most haunted places in the UK
- Plus, guests are encouraged to don their best Halloween fancy dress with spot prizes being given out each day for the best spooky costumes.
- Zoo Director, Matt Lewis said: “With lots of new Halloween-themed activities and more than 160 amazing animal species to discover, we’ve got plenty to keep the family busy this half term. And don’t forget our kids go free ticket offer, which continues to run throughout the holidays, enabling up to two children free entry with every full-paying adult ticket pre-booked online, which means visiting DZC this autumn is spooktacular value!”
