New opening hours are coming into effect at the Stourbridge tip from next week with the site to close every Tuesday.
The weekly one-day closure on what is historically the quietest day at the site was agreed as part of cost-saving measures in the 2024-25 budget.
Implementation of the closure was delayed for a year due to an agreement with Staffordshire County Council.
The neighbouring authority offered to fund the use of the site by residents who would normally use their Wombourne facility while it was temporarily closed.
The new schedule will begin on Tuesday 6 May, when the site will be closed. The tip is open on Bank Holiday Monday (5 May) from 8am to 6pm.
There are no other changes to opening times and the tip is now running an extended summer schedule, opening an extra two hours from 8am to 6pm on Mondays. From Wednesday to Sunday it is open from 8am to 4pm.
All tip bookings must be made in advance using our quick and easy online system. Please remember to cancel if your plans change to reduce waiting times for other tip users.
