16 days of action
Today is the start of the 16 days of action campaign, it will be marked by venues across Dudley borough showing their support for ‘Orange the Word’- the international day for the elimination of violence against woman and girls.
Venues including Dudley Council House, The Red House Glass Cone, Stourbridge Glass Museum, Dudley Zoo, Russells Hall Hospital, Himley Hall and Merry Hill will light up orange in support of the campaign.
The wider campaign will raise awareness of different forms of domestic abuse and violence against woman and girls over 16 days, with a different theme each day.
Dudley’s community safety partnership, safe & sound has joined with other local authorities to highlight the different forms abuse can take and that it can happen to anyone regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion or disability.
