There is no need to be bored this summer with activities and sessions on offer in leisure centres, visitor attractions, libraries and more.

Free swimming

Children who live in Dudley borough can benefit from free swimming at Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre in Dudley, Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge and Halesowen Leisure Centre.

Terms and conditions apply and people must be registered in advance.

Leisure centres

Duncan Edwards, Crystal, Halesowen leisure centres and The Dell Stadium have plenty of activities to entertain the kids this summer.

Sessions include Waikiki Waves family water disco, under 5s splash time, under 5s stay and play, badminton, table-tennis, £1 football sessions, soft play, and activities for children with SEN.

Red House Glass Cone and Dudley Museum

Red House Glass Cone and Dudley Museum at The Archives will have free seasonal trails and craft sessions with full details on their Facebook pages.

At the Red House Glass Cone, children aged 12 and over also can enjoy holiday seaside themed glass fusing sessions with booking details available below.

Himley Hall and Park play area

The brand new woodland play area is now open. Children can enjoy a large wooden play tower, including a spiral slide, rotating carousels, zip line, seesaws, rocking horses, and several swings.

The popular dinosaur and princess and pirate themed trails also return to Himley from 22 July or try the all year round hidden fairy door search.

Libraries

There are lots of activities to enjoy in Dudley borough libraries this summer holiday.

Children can take part in The Summer Reading Challenge. The libraries are also running Rattle and Rhyme, Lego, craft sessions, teddy bear’s picnic, story sessions and much more.

Entertainment Live

At Stourbridge Town Hall on Sunday 11 August families can enjoy ‘Wonders of our Universe’.

Join an afternoon of exploration, looking at stars, planets, galaxies, black holes, the search for life beyond Earth with astrophysicist Ian Hall.

Families with younger children can also enjoy seeing a Tribute show to the popular children’s entertainer and YouTube sensation Ms Rachel at Dudley Town Hall. The ‘Miss Rachel UK Tribute Show’ is visiting on Saturday 31 August from 12pm and includes interactive screen content, animation and scenery, puppetry and voices on screen with Bertie and friends.

Park Active outdoor exercise

The Pack Active programme will continue to offer free outdoor exercise sessions for children and families to enjoy over the summer holiday with walks, park yoga, Dudley Park Run, Junior Park Run and activities at the five healthy hubs.

Kids eat for £1 offer at Brookes Bar & Bistro

We've got something special for our little foodies – a brand new kids menu that they can try for just £1 during the school holidays!

Every school holiday at Brooke’s, up to two children aged 13 and under can enjoy a children’s main for just £1, when an adult purchases a main meal. Valid Tuesday to Saturday for all day menu.
