From 1 April 2024, the school nurse service will be part of the newly commissioned Integrated 0-19 Service provided by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.
The 0-19 service brings together school nursing, health visiting, family nurse partnership and an emotional health & wellbeing support offer. This approach allows for greater integration, seamless services and better outcomes for children, young people and families across Dudley.
The school nurse team can be contacted by the usual methods. Email addresses and phone numbers remain the same. Please see the website for more details.

Is your school struggling with high volumes of traffic and congestion?
Thanks to funding from Active Travel England, schools in Dudley borough are eligible to take part in WOW – a walk to school challenge, free of charge.
WOW asks children to self-report how they get to school every day on an interactive WOW Travel Tracker, with those who travel sustainably (walk, wheel, cycle, scoot or Park and Stride) rewarded with collectable WOW badges. WOW schools typically see a 30% reduction in cars at the school gates and a 23% increase in walking rates.
Walking to school helps reduce congestion and pollution outside the school gates, while boosting the physical and mental wellbeing of pupils. It’s also a great way for families to spend quality time together.
The walk to school outreach project is delivered by Living Streets – the UK charity for everyday walking. It supports children and their families to overcome barriers to walking to school.
Last year, the project helped create 14.3 million new walking journeys and removed over 2.5 million car km from the roads at peak times.
Get in touch today to find out how your school can benefit from safer, quieter streets and healthier pupils.
To register your interest or if you have any questions, please email sameena.parvaz@livingstreets.org.uk the Project Coordinator for West Midlands.
Dudley Public Health is continuing the way schools memberships to the PSHE Association are subsidised.
Schools no longer have their membership automatically renewed and paid for by Dudley Public Health. Instead, schools will be required to purchase their annual membership themselves. Schools can then claim back £50 towards their membership from Dudley Public Health.
To claim this funding schools need to submit an invoice for £50 and proof of purchase to cypteam@dudley.gov.uk this offer is available between April 2024 – March 2025.
The annual cost of membership per school is currently £145 and this provides access for all staff.
Members of the PSHE Association have full access to a library of quality downloadable resources that help them develop and improve their practice, with specific content that relates to teaching children with SEND. These comprehensive resources include an explanation of how to develop a curriculum framework for PSHE which is bespoke and personalised to each setting, in line with best practice. Additionally, the resources include guidance on creating lesson plans and assessing student progress.
Please note, if your school chooses not to renew their membership there is still a lot of valuable content and resources on the PSHE Association website that is accessible for non-members.
