Inclusive play opportunities for children with SEN

A future date for your diary! 'Playweek' will be back Tuesday 6 - Saturday 10 August the team from Sycamore Adventure and partners, deliver loads of free activities for children and families throughout the borough. Free activities include climbing, soft archery and zorbing.

The Odeon and Showcase cinemas both host accessible and autism friendly sessions,  films showing this May include 'Hey Dougie' and 'Garfield'

Kids are a charity who create life-changing opportunities by providing a wide range of support to families. They run playscheme days at their centre alongside community days for signed up families. Email: enquiries.orchard@kids.org.uk for details of the local Stourbridge service.

We love Carers meet during term time, they run various sessions including 'cuppa and chat' and 'crafty carers' alongside 'Chaos clubs' at their Mary Stevens based centre and on Sundays at Scallywags. Our Family hubs are open this half term for support and family friendly fun such as FREE  activities including messy play and games at Stourbridge hub on Wednesday 29 May from 10am - 2pm.  Call the hub on 01384 818780 to book a place.

Dudley Canal Trust operate their toddler boat every Wednesday throughout the year and is designed for under fives with their parents or carers. It is just £2 per passenger full details can found: Dudley Canal .

Please note there is no pre booking for this trip.  All spaces are allocated on a first serve basis on the day.

The holiday activities programme (HAF) scheme will return this summer, you're eligible to register for HAF if the following applies: You live in Dudley or your child goes to school in Dudley Borough, your child is aged between 5 and 16 years and your child is eligible for benefits related free school meals. You can register your child via the HAF website. (To book sessions for your children you must be registered.) 

 Dudley Zoo is open all over Half Term, there is hundreds of exotic and endangered animals who inhabit a 40 acre site around the ruins of the 11th century Dudley Castle. Come face to face with free roaming lemurs, feed Rainbow lorikeets, meet friends on the farm and look out for ghosts in the 11th century castle.

They will be once again hosting their annual under 5’s Teddy Bears Picnic Party on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June. Full details of all events can be found on their  website. 

Visit the Black Country Living Museum this half term (Sat 25 May – Sun 2 June) to celebrate the bostin' things, people and products that came from the Black Country.  

Meet iconic historical characters, explore the new Industrial Quarter to see how industry has changed and have a go at making bricks, take part in the 1910 women chain makers' strike and try traditional street games as well as enjoying all the fun of the historic fairground and see live metal working demonstrations!
