Secondary school places - what happens next?

Accepting/rejecting the allocation
If your child has been allocated a Dudley School and it was one of your preferences, you do not need to take any further action, the school will contact you in due course.
🔹 If the school was one of your preferred options but you no longer wish to accept this place, please email your rejection to admissions.cs@dudley.gov.uk.
🔹 If the school was not one of your preferred options, you will have received a letter with a reply slip attached, please return this slip via admissions.cs@dudley.gov.uk by 15 March 2024.Â
🔹 If you have been allocated a school outside of the Dudley borough, please contact the relevant Local Authority to see if you need to accept/reject the offer.
🔹 If you reject the offer, whether it was a preference or not, your child will not automatically be allocated an alternative school. There is no advantage to be gained with waiting lists or appeals by rejecting alternative school offers.

If you would like to be added to the waiting list of any school in Dudley, please email your request to admissions.cs@dudley.gov.uk.
The only exception to this is the waiting list for Bishop Milner Catholic College, please contact the school direct as they maintain their own list.

Places that become available will be allocated from the waiting list in strict accordance with the admissions criteria for the school. You can contact The Admissions Service 0300 555 2345 after 19 March 2024 where you will be given your child’s position on the list.
If you would like to be added to the waiting list of a school outside of the Dudley borough, please contact the relevant Local Authority.
Please contact 0300 555 2345 if you wish to pursue an appeal.
You can appeal to an independent appeals panel against the decision to refuse your child’s admission, however, please note you can only appeal for a school place that your child has been refused admission to. It is very important to note that none of the above operates on a first come first served basis, therefore, please take your time to talk to your child and consider your options. The closing date for appeals is 16 April. |
