Welcome to our latest SEND Improvement Programme bulletin.
I am pleased to announce Martyn Palfreyman has been successful in the appointment of the Head of Education Outcomes and Inclusion and will join us on 1 September 2021.
I would like to thank Jeremy Keeble, who has been covering this position since June 2020 for all his hard work and commitment to Dudley.

Dudley’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service(SENDIASS) is offering free sessions.
|
Plans for a new multi-million pound state of the art special school in Dudley have been submitted.

Dudley’s Local Offer website has been re-developed by Dudley Council and its partners to make it easier for parents and carers to access information and support services in the borough.

At the end of April, representatives from Dudley Council joined colleagues from Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Dudley Virtual School are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for their Annual Conference – Nurturing Educational Success, taking place online on 8 July 2021.

On Thursday 10 June, the Children and Young People's Alliance hosted a virtual webinar for the Preparing for Adulthood strategy launch. A huge thank you to those of you who attended. The session can be viewed on You Tube.

The new three year strategy will be an innovative and ambitious local area SEND strategy for Dudley. Children and families will be at the heart of the strategy.

Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS trust have carried out a review of physiotherapy support for young people.
|

Following the consultation responses, the Matrix documents have been updated to address the queries in relation to descriptors and the points ascribed to the different categories of need.
There will be weekly drop-in sessions every Friday from 11am – 12pm open to SEND Staff and School leads to support their understanding of the nuances of the Matrix.
