The Cone re-opened its visitor centre and shop to the public on Monday 12th April with some new stock in time for summer, reflecting our Black Country heritage and local identity. Whilst the Cone structure remains closed for the foreseeable future and there are no live glassblowing demonstrations at present, our resident collective of creative businesses also re-open their doors and welcome visitors. We anticipate the re-opening of our exhibition areas and the Red Cone Coffee House on Monday 17th May

A recent addition to our established creative businesses at Red House Glass Cone late last year is Glassic Crafts run by Anthony Cooper who specialises in designing 'traditional and contemporary stained glass'. Anthony also does commissions and restorations and has a fantastic range of gifts for all pockets in his workshop, from adorable cute bunnies to canal themed art, to remembrance and memorial pieces to more classical and colourful larger items.

Our longstanding collective of creative businesses have all reopened to the public now although some restrictions are still in place. If you pop on to site and head to the courtyard you will find the recently expanded Josephine Tournebize Jewellery and Kirk Andrews Art specialising in charcoal and pastel and rock star portraiture. If you walk down to the far side of the site you will find Tandem Crafts (textile artists), Saz's Ceramics (pottery) and Glass Quarter Designs (assorted glass media). Most of these businesses do custom orders and commissions when asked and also run workshops.

With the longer daylight hours and warmer weather you might want to consider a canal walk. The self-guided Stourbridge Canal and Glass Quarter Heritage Trail will lead you on a scenic walk that starts at the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge and encompasses Red House Glass Cone after approximately 1.5 miles should you choose to stop and shop here. Alternatively you can take an extended walk along the canal to Brierley Hill should you choose. Further details, a short video and downloadable leaflets are available in the link below.
