We have now entered TIER 2 covid restrictions

Everyone in Dudley is again being urged to help protect the borough, each other and the NHS by following the updated restrictions.

New test centre in Lye

A new coronavirus test site which can be accessed on foot has opened in Lye.

The walk-through site has been chosen to make it easier for people without a car to attend and are easily accessible for those on foot or bike.

The borough now has two sites, the other is located on Flood Street car park (off Oakeywell Street) in Dudley.

The site is not providing a drop-in service and all tests must be booked in advance.

Support through self-isolation

If you are on a low income and can’t work from home while you have to self-isolate, you may be entitled to a payment of £500 from your local authority under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme.
This is for individuals who have been asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace on or after 28 September 2020.

The Test and Trace Support Payment scheme will run until 31 January 2021.

Alternative Halloween fun

Everyone must be vigilant to help cut the spread of the virus and protect family, friends and communities. This means that Halloween will be different this year.

Please check the current Government social distancing rules for meeting others inside and outside in your area.

University park plans

Paperwork is being finalised to transfer land to Dudley College to create a ‘university park’ specialising in advanced manufacturing, modern construction methodologies and medical engineering.

Ryemarket car park re-opens

Stourbridge’s Ryemarket car park has re-opened today after repairs to the fire damaged building.

More space for dogs at Himley

Dog walkers are free to explore more parts of the picturesque Himley Park after restrictions on a small part of the open space were lifted for the winter

Pools closed for repairs

The 25m pools at Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres and currently shut for repairs

Emergency food support

The council has launched a crisis hotline on 07903 374686 for families in crisis to contact for emergency food vouchers as well as for other help and support.
