New test centre for the borough

A new coronavirus test site which can be accessed on foot is opening in Dudley borough.

The walk-through site has been chosen to make it easier for people without a car to attend and are easily accessible for those on foot or bike.

The site, located on Flood Street car park (off Oakeywell Street) in Dudley, has now opened.

The site is not providing a drop-in service and all tests must be booked in advance.

Young people play their part

Young people across Dudley borough are playing their part in the fight against coronavirus by supporting a new local Hands. Face. Space. awareness raising campaign.

Alternative Halloween fun

Everyone must be vigilant to help cut the spread of the virus and protect family, friends and communities. This means that Halloween will be different this year.

Please check the current Government social distancing rules for meeting others inside and outside in your area.

A visor alone does not help prevent the spread of covid.

Covid heroes

Dudley Council for Voluntary Service (DCVS) and Black Country Radio hosted the Covid Heroes Awards virtually last night

£700,000 for green improvements

Councillors will be asked to back a spend of nearly £700,000 on improving green spaces around the borough’s canal and river network.

The investment – for which the lions share will come from external funding at no expense to the taxpayer - is part of the Black Country Blue Network.

Energy efficiency drive almost done

A drive to convert all lights on main roads in the borough to LED will be completed by the end of the year.

Around 6,600 street lights on main roads in the borough have now been converted, with the small remaining few expected to be converted within the next six weeks.

Geopark fun this half term

With more than 40 Geosites dotted across the Black Country, many of them great outdoor spaces, there are plenty of places to visit to keep active, while following coronavirus rules

New NATIONAL nature reserve

Saltwells Local Nature Reserve has been officially elevated to National status after Natural England recognised its unique geology under its new National Nature Reserve strategy

Bookable swim sessions

Family splash swimming sessions will be on at Dudley and Halesowen leisure centres over the school half-term holiday but must be booked in advance
