Back to school

Our children and young people are set to return to school next week and we can't wait to welcome them back

We’ve all worked hard to make our schools as safe as possible but we need our parents to play their part too. Parents and carers are encouraged to visit www.gov.uk/backtoschool for useful information and practical guidance to help them prepare for their children’s safe return to school.

Bank holiday opening times

Bank holiday opening times are as follows:

Bins and recycling - collections operate as normal
Stourbridge tip - open as normal but only for pre-booked appointments
Dudley Council Plus will be closed - emergency calls should go to 0300 555 2345
Leisure Centres - times vary, details for each leisure centre are here

Don't forget you can also report issues using the council app

Eat out to help out

There's still time to support your local restaurants, pubs and cafes through the national Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

All participating restaurants will offer a 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in (up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 31st August.

Support local business

People are being encouraged to ‘shop, visit and explore local’ as part of a new campaign supporting borough businesses and tourist attractions.

With lockdown measures gradually being eased, we are asking residents to stay local when shopping or enjoying leisure time to help get the borough economy back on its feet.

The call comes as part of the Dudley Deal, an informal agreement between the council and anyone who lives, works or runs a business in the borough.

We're making improvements to our adult social care systems.

We can only take urgent calls for care between Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 9 September.

Non-urgent calls are asked to wait until after this time

Dudley Council is making a change to its physical social distancing measures in Stourbridge town centre in order to help traders accept deliveries while keeping visitors safe.
