People are being encouraged to ‘shop, visit and explore local’ as part of a new campaign supporting borough businesses and tourist attractions.

Whilst people are being encouraged to enjoy leisure activities once again, they are also being reminded to continue to stay safe by adhering to social distancing guidelines, wearing face coverings in indoor locations where required, and washing their hands regularly.

Play your part, protect Dudley borough

Residents of all ages are being asked to play their part to help protect the borough and avoid a local lockdown.

While confirmed cases have reduced since the early peak in March, coronavirus hasn’t gone away. Everyone can and should play their part in helping to control the virus which has impacted on so many lives.

Being vigilant about the symptoms – a new persistent cough or fever or a loss of taste or smell – and taking action is essential. Anyone showing signs of the virus should stay at home and self-quarantine with their household. People can simply and easily book a test via www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

Report issues by using the council app

People can report issues to Dudley Council quicker by using the council smartphone app.

It can be used to report issues while out and about including litter, fly-tipping, potholes, graffiti and much more.

Council tenants can use it to report housing repairs which are needed, while it can be used for people to find out who their local councillor is and how to contact them. It also has the latest information on jobs.

Special series of 'A Night In With' online shows

Borough Halls is excited to bring you a special series of five 'A Night In With' online shows taking place throughout September and October.

Each event lasts for 1 hour 10 minutes (including an interval) and there's chance to put your own questions to the stars. Have a look at a full list of what's on.

All you need to do is book a ticket and then on the day of the show we'll send you an email with a website address and a unique code to enable you to watch online.

VIP tickets are available for each event, including a personalised signed book. We really hope you can join us for these unique intimate one-off online shows!

Free Dr Bike sessions 2020

Borough residents can make the most of a free bike MOT service this month.

The Dr Bike sessions, run by Dudley Council’s road safety team and funded by Cycling UK allow borough residents to bring their bikes along for a free MOT, with minor repairs carried out free of charge.

There are sessions planned for Wednesday 26 August at Mary Stevens Park and Thursday 27 August at Himley Hall. Both sessions run from 9am – 3pm. Examination of the bikes and any repairs is free of charge and is carried out by trained technicians.

Support and advice for GCSE students

GCSE students across Dudley borough can get free support and advice after getting their results this week.

Dudley Council’s Connexions team supports young people on their journey through education, training and employment and is providing virtual support to students throughout August and September.
