It’s October and autumn has arrived! The hedgerows are full of hips and haws, the leaves are colouring up and thoughts are turning to cosy evenings by the pub fire, indoor events, autumn menus and making the most of a slightly quieter time of year.

Eerie events
Of course, October ends with Halloween and there are plenty of spine-chilling, spooktacular activities taking place across the district during half term. Book now for Dover Castle’s Halloween Quest, Walmer Castle’s Spooky Woodland Walk and Betteshanger Park’s terrifying trio of Pumpkin Town, Woodland Halloween Trail and Terror Trail (see below). For something a little less scary, head to Kearsney Abbey on 25 October for their Halloween Day with arts and crafts and themed trail around the park.
