Could you Foster for Doncaster?
We are looking for people in Doncaster who can provide a stable, loving home for local children. By fostering, you could help a child to stay living near the people and places they know.
You don’t need to be an expert to make a difference. Your everyday skills could be the key to unlocking a child’s potential.
If you live in the Doncaster area, have a spare bedroom and are aged 21 or over, you could be just the person we are looking for.
Find out more about fostering and the support we’ll provide.
Sign Language Week 2026

The theme for the week is United in Sign and we are happy to be using British Sign Language to sign ‘Welcome to Doncaster’, we’d love to see more people having a go and learning to sign!
Meningitis Symptoms
With the recent meningitis outbreak in Kent, we understand that there might be questions about signs and symptoms and eligibility for vaccines.
Meningitis is a serious condition where the protective layers around the brain and spinal cord become inflamed. Septicaemia is when the bacteria enter the bloodstream to cause blood poisoning. They can happen to anyone, so it’s important to know the symptoms and risks.
Bacterial meningitis is rare but can be serious if not treated quickly.
Here are the symptoms of meningitis to look out for:
People who are connected to the outbreak in Kent are being contacted about preventative antibiotics and MenB vaccination.
If you’re feeling unwell or are worried about any possible symptoms of meningitis, please contact your GP practice, call NHS 111, or seek urgent medical care if symptoms become severe.
Now is a good time to check that you and your children are up to date with routine vaccinations: NHS vaccinations and when to have them - NHS
