A look into some of Doncaster's Welcoming Spaces

All of our 24 Libraries in Doncaster are classed as Welcoming Spaces.

Welcoming Spaces started as a crisis response to keep people warm through the winter, with many community spaces across Doncaster signing up to be one, and has blossomed into a movement to reconnect individuals and communities across the country all year round.

Libraries provide a free public and inclusive environment, where no one will be challenged just for being there. We offer not only physical warmth, but emotional too, and we can signpost to other services such as food banks, housing support and health resources, you just need to ask.

We're committed to strengthening the social fabric of our communities and ensure that libraries remain a free resource for all. Libraries are much more than quiet spaces filled with books, we're vibrant community hubs that provide a wide range of services and support to people of all ages and backgrounds. Come along and read, relax, use the Wi-Fi and find out how you can become involved in your community.

You can check your local Library opening hours at https://library.doncaster.gov.uk/libraries which is up-to-date with Christmas and New Year openings.

You can find your local welcoming space through the Warm Welcome website.
