There are now 20 newly created job opportunities as part of the Mayor’s £1m investment.

We are about to embark on an ambitious programme of change in our city centre. Residents and businesses are telling us that our city centre needs to be safer and cleaner, and we are listening. We’re going to start by recruiting local people who know the city and want to help it reach its full potential.

If you are someone who wants to make a difference, our city centre needs you! We are recruiting for the following roles:

Safer City

mayor and NRT

City Centre Engagement Officers (CCEOs)

We are looking for five passionate and committed individuals to join our Community Safety Service working in the City Centre Team on a two year fixed term contract, as part of a programme to help us make our City Centre a vibrant, safe and inviting place to live, work and visit.

We will provide training to enable you to confidently engage residents, visitors and businesses to provide information, advice or guidance, resolve issues or concerns and take enforcement action where appropriate to do so.

The role works directly in the City Centre and will seek to drive prevention, early intervention and problem solving activity relating to Vulnerable People, ASB Issues, Youth Nuisance, or Noise Nuisance giving you the chance to make a real difference.

Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT)

We are looking for nine positive and enthusiastic individuals to join our Community Safety Service working in the Neighbourhood Response Team on a two year fixed term contract, as part of a programme to help make our City Centre and Borough a vibrant, safe and inviting place to live, work and visit.

The role works directly in the community across Doncaster, giving you the chance to make a positive change to the lives of residents, visitors and businesses. We will provide training to allow you to support local communities, attend Anti-Social behaviour incidents and concerns which may involve Vulnerable people, Anti-Social Behaviour, Youth Nuisance and Noise Nuisance.

You will be required to provide support to victims of anti-social behaviour, prevent escalation of local issues and resolve local anti-social behaviour incidents through early intervention, engagement and problem solving, using effective communication skills, as well as civil and criminal enforcement powers where appropriate and necessary to do so.

Street Scene

We are looking for committed individuals to join our Street Scene team on a 2-year fixed term contract, as part of the programme to improve the cleanliness of our city centre.

We will provide training to allow you to use a variety of maintenance machinery to deliver works including, litter removal, bin emptying, fly tip clearance, road sweeping and weed removal works. The role works directly in the community on sites across Doncaster, giving you the chance to see the difference Street Scene makes to people living in Doncaster.

If you want to be part of service dedicated to delivering outstanding service to our residents by maintaining and enhancing Doncaster’s public spaces this could be the opportunity for you.

Enforcement

Anti-Social Behaviour Enforcement Officers. 

We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Community Safety Service working as ASB Enforcement Officers on a two year fixed term contract, as part of a programme to help make our City Centre and Borough a vibrant, safe and inviting place to live, work and visit. 

The role works directly in the community across Doncaster, giving you the chance to make a positive change to the lives of residents, visitors and businesses. Although experience in this type of work is a benefit it is not essential for the roles, if you have the relevant knowledge and understanding of Anti-Social Behaviour legislation, procedures and practices.

We will provide training to allow you to work proactively to provide support for victims of Anti-Social Behaviour, retrieve evidence and pursue individuals involved in complex anti-social behaviour and environmental crime with a view to taking legal action against those who fail to comply with civil or criminal legislation where appropriate to do so.
