Hello and welcome to the latest edition of City of Doncaster's dedicated city centre newsletter!
We're heading in to the autumn months and give you a flavour of the latest developments in the heart of the city and what's to come.
As always, have a fun and safe time and enjoy!
Have you spotted our new bins?
Solar powered bins are so hot right now!
We've got some new bins which not only compact the waste inside to increase capacity but also keep track of how full they are and let us know when they need emptying.
(And yes, they do still work at night)

Over 1,000 youngsters have EPIC summer
Throughout the Summer holidays the Hub produced an EPIC activities programme for young people to access. We welcomed 863 young people into the hub over the summer holiday period where they were able to participate in workshops provided by Breaking Beats, Arts and Craft sessions and FIFA tournaments on our X-boxes.
In addition to the open sessions, EPIC Hub provided a successful HAF programme for young people who are eligible for Free School Meals. Throughout the holidays young people accessed some fantastic experiences from Zip lining at Go Ape, Rock Climbing at Awesome Walls, visiting Arcade Warehouse in Doncaster City Centre to Bath Bomb Making Workshops provided by LUSH within the shopping centre.
177 young people attended our HAF summer programme. Every young person received a free meal provided by The Tin Can Company, a local Doncaster catering service. In total over 1,000 young people engaged with the EPIC Hub during the Summer, which speaks for itself in how important the Hub has become for young people visiting or passing through the City Centre.

And finally, farewell to Motsons
T H Motson & Sons Ltd factory at Chappell Drive has now been demolished after a long and successful trading business in the local community.
TH Motson & Sons was first founded in 1893 and Dave Motson, one of our City Centre Engagement Officers, is the fourth generation of the Motson family business. The new factory at Chappell Drive was state of the art when it was opened in 1983. They ceased trading many years ago and we are lucky to have Dave as part of our team.
Dave told us about many amazing stories over the incredible journey his family business took, including having a licence to drive cattle from the Railway to the Market via the centre of Town as it was then. In their hey day they supplied meat to most of the businesses in Doncaster.
