NHS

Are you aged between 40 and 74 years old?

Your Place at Armthorpe library are hosting a FREE NHS health check on Thursday 2nd May 9am-4pm for anyone aged between 40 and 74 years old.

The health check could help you to spot early signs of stroke, heart disease and diabetes which you will be able to get support and advice to manage.

Recycle Right

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen more residents putting the correct recyclable materials in the correct bin.

Thanks to this, you’ve contributed to a fall in our contamination rates. This in turn helps to keep costs down, which can then be spent on other council services.

A reminder that paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aerosols, cans, tins and foil are ALL accepted.

Are you in an unhealthy relationship?

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone; partners; ex-partners; family members; regardless of sexuality or gender orientation, race, background or upbringing.

Children and young people can also be affected by the abuse that they see and hear, and they can be harmed as part of domestic abuse between adults. Young people may also experience abuse from their own boyfriend/girlfriend.

East family hub

Have you visited your local family hub?

We offer a huge range of FREE supportive and fun, family-friendly groups and events, we also host antenatal and postnatal appointments with the Midwifery and Health Visiting services.

There are family hubs at, Armthorpe, Moorends and Stainforth.

Our groups and events can range from antenatal parenting groups, to our First Friends sessions where your little ones can have new experiences, learn and meet other little ones in their community, whilst you meet other parents and care givers.

Important information for working parents claiming 15 or 30 hours childcare funding

If you’ve received an 11 digit eligibility code to access funded childcare this term, your code needs to be checked as soon as possible by your childcare provider.

The Ladies Chatroom 

Whatever you age or situation, come and join us for a cuppa, a biscuit and a listening ear.  The ladies chatroom is a group for women over 18 years old to have a good moan, giggle and meet new friends.

The group is completely free and there is free parking  and disabled access available.

Come along to Armthorpe Community Centre on the following Thursdays 6pm - 8pm 2nd May, 6th June, 4th July and 1st August.

Community evening walking group

Join the Well Doncaster Officers on weekly walk, a different route each week starting on Tuesday 30th April (weather permitting). Everyone is welcome and we would love to see you.  If anyone has mobility issues please contact 07823 481664 to book on so that a walk can be selected that is appropriate.
