Flood Action Week

This week is National Flood Action Week.

Recent polling suggests nearly 60% of households at risk from flooding do not believe their homes could flood. But just because flooding hasn't happened to you in the past, it doesn't mean it won't happen in the future.

Read our newsletter via the link below to find out more on how to prepare for floods and what plans City of Doncaster Council has in place to support residents.

Knowing just one action to take in a flood can reduce the impacts on your home and family.

Be the Kind Kid

'Be the Kind Kid' tells the story of a young girl named Ellie who decides to set up a kindness club in school after finding out the Lilly; a new student, is being bullied. This touching story teaches us all that one small act of kindness can make a world of difference.

The book is also available online for you to read with your child together at home here.

If you would like more information about the support available to you and your child, visit our website or speak to your child’s school.

Kind Kid

The book also supports the values of the Choose Kindness Movement, a city wide movement which emphasises the power of kindness and how one kind act can impact significantly on everyone’s wellbeing.

Cold weather forecast

As you may have noticed, temperatures have dropped in recent days and it's expected to remain cold over the weekend.

We know that over the winter months, there are many people in our community that may need a bit more support than usual.

If you have an older neighbour, relative or friend, choose kindness and look out for those who might struggle with the drop in temperature.
