Hello there,
If you support a partner, family member, friend or neighbour who relies on you for help to live their life, you are a carer.
Thursday 23 November is Carers Rights Day, where hundreds of organisations will be raising awareness of caring, helping to identify carers and signposting them to information, advice and support.
Have Your Say
Join us on Thursday 23 November at Doncaster Baptist Church Hall, DN1 2AL, from 11:30am - 1:30pm to help us shape the Doncaster Carers Wellbeing Service.
If you are planning to attend please get in touch with the Doncaster Carers Wellbeing Service on 01302 986900 or email.
If you can’t make this event, and you are an unpaid carer for a loved one, relative or neighbour, then please contact the Doncaster Carers Wellbeing Service if you think you need help and support.
The service completes Carers’ Assessments on behalf of the City of Doncaster Council. All carers are entitled to a Carer’s Assessment - this is not a test of your skills as a carer or a judgement on how well you are caring for someone. It is a friendly chat focusing on you, your caring role and whether there is any support you need to help you continue to care.
Find carers’ support near you
There are lots of community and voluntary support groups for carers based around Doncaster. The recently published online community directory can help you find all the support groups and organisations around Doncaster that can help you in your caring role.
You can search for groups by category, by age group and by where you live:
