July's Spotlight On: Rockingham Radio
Rockingham Radio, born amidst the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdown in May 2020, has emerged as a beacon of hope, entertainment, and community empowerment in Mexborough and it is reaching listeners across the Dearne Valley, and beyond.
What began as an initiative to provide relief and entertainment during the lockdown has since blossomed into a thriving online radio station, captivating listeners with its diverse music content and fostering community engagement. Today, Rockingham Radio stands as a gateway organisation, empowering individuals of all ages and levels of experience to develop their radio shows and co-produce content, ultimately building self-confidence and increasing self-esteem within the community.
Each month, we want to feature a new community group and we need your help – nominate a community group or volunteer that you think deserves the spotlight and a collective thank you by emailing: mexcommunityhub@gmail.com

Action 4 Mexborough: Youth in Mexborough Meeting
Action 4 Mexborough had their monthly meeting in July where the subject was ‘Youth in Mexborough’, where students from Laurel Academy were invited to join.
There were ten students that attended to give their views on what they would like to see more of, less of and improvements in Mexborough through their eyes. It was a great meeting, and some great feedback was given.
Mexborough Community Hub are looking to set up a youth association and we are in the middle of pushing this forward to create a committee where the youth will have a voice and will be involved in creating and organising their own events.
Keep an eye out for more information.

I have a dog called Lilli,
She is rather silly.
She likes sweets,
that are dog treats.
Oh, but I love you Lilli.
