Summer is here (despite the weather!) and there is still lots of free support and activities available across the school holidays in Doncaster.
In this months newsletter you can find:
- Free and low cost Summer Activities
- Information on the holiday and food programme

There are lots of spaces across Doncaster where you can speak to somebody- whether that be about managing debt, heating your home or just having a chat and a cup of tea.
 Summer Staycation- free and low cost events!
Doncaster Council has partnered up with local providers, community and voluntary groups to bring children and young people a summer jam-packed full of activities!
There's lots on for all children and young people, from primary to post-16 we have everything from family fun days to local history and even adventure packed paintball sessions.
Most of the activities are free but some do have a small charge. There is a huge list of activities on offer already but keep checking the page as new activities may get added throughout the summer.
Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme
The HAF programme is designed to provide free healthy food & enriching activities for primary and secondary school aged children who receive benefits-related free school meals.

Cost of Living Support at Your Place
Did you know that the 4 Your Place teams can help with anything that might be affecting you and your family? Drop in for a chat about anything from support with benefits, concerns you have about your child, the cost of living, and they can even support you with funding applications for household essentials through local charities and other funding streams.

 Household Support Fund Extended for 2023-24
If you need extra support with the cost of living, you may be eligible for the Household Support Fund.
Government funding has been allocated to City of Doncaster Council which will be used to support with food for families during the school holidays and provide working age households with assistance towards their energy bills.
If you receive any of the following, you will be eligible for support:
- Housing Benefits
- Local Council Tax Reduction
- Universal Credit
- Means-tested free school meals.

Kids Meal Deals over the school holidays
There are lots of restaurants and local supermarkets that have offers to help you keep your children well fed over the school holidays. From 'kids eat for £1' to free meals with every adult order- it's worth checking in with your local eatery or supermarket to see what's on offer!
Citizens Advice Online Budget Planner
Citizens Advice Doncaster have launched a FREE online budget planner to help you manage your finances. It only take minutes to complete if you have all your financial information to hand
 Citizens Advice Energy Project
Citizens Advice Doncaster are able to support you with grants and debts related to energy bills. including support with:
- Application to Trust Funds if you have any debts
- Referrals to debt Advice
- Assistance changing provider
- Price comparison check.
- Full Benefit Check
- Fuel Vouchers (conditions apply)
- Assistance with applying for Warm Home Discount Scheme & any other trust or schemes available to help with the cost of living.

Support with your water bills
Yorkshire water have a number of support schemes that may be useful to you if you are having trouble with your water bills, as well as lots of information on saving and conserving water. You can find information on all of their schemes through their help paying your bill webpage.
 Visit the Health Bus
The FREE Health Bus offers drop-in GP clinics at different sites across Doncaster.
If you have a minor ailment or illness that’s been troubling you and we’re in the neighbourhood, come and see the health bus!
Our Health Bus Service makes stops in communities so that everyone, regardless of whether you’re registered with a local GP practice or not, can access high quality healthcare. The Health Bus is staffed by GPs, nurses and other healthcare staff who work locally in Doncaster.
