Snow update
Our teams have continued to work hard to provide services across Doncaster – including our fly-tip team collecting snow-covered, fly-tipped rubbish (not cool)
Our gritters have already been out 8 times since this week, with more runs planned later this evening (Friday) – in fact over 500 tonnes of salt has been spread across our roads already this week!
We’re preparing for more snow forecast tonight and this weekend – please continue to drive carefully on our roads, especially at night on roads that haven’t been treated. Pedestrians should also take extra care as walkways may be slippery.
Thanks for your patience during this period of cold weather and a big thank you to our teams for doing all they can to keep Doncaster running.

Your Local Welcoming Spaces
It’s cold out and you may be looking for somewhere to keep warm, have a chat, or just a place to relax.
Did you know our community libraries double up as warm, Welcoming Spaces?
There’s lots to get involved with & a warm welcome for everyone.
If you are thinking about going to one of your local Welcoming Spaces, please make sure that you travel safely and only do so if the weather allows.
The Great British Spring Clean is back
Running from the 17th March - 2nd April, Doncaster Council is encouraging residents to take part in more than one hundred litter pick events across the borough as part of a nationwide initiative!
Last year, Doncaster claimed a prestigious award for its commitment to bringing more than a thousand volunteers across the borough together to help tackle litter issues & spread awareness on environmental issues at the Keep Britain Tidy Awards 2022.
Get in touch through social media via Doncaster Council and share with us your photos, videos and posts to help raise the event and use the following hashtag: #GBSpringClean
We want to hear from parents and carers!
We want to hear from Doncaster parents/carers including those trying to conceive and those who are pregnant.
City of Doncaster Council are preparing to launch a new Family Food Programme to give families practical advice and tools to support lifelong health and wellbeing, taking into account individual circumstances.
To provide the best service, we want to understand what's important to you!
This survey will close on March 23 2023.
Be a Good Neighbour
When was the last time you popped over to your neighbour to say hello?
There are many people in our community who might need information, help or just a chat. We’re urging residents to check in friends, family and neighbours, you never know who might need it.
- Say 'hello'
- Ask if they need any help
- Keep them informed with online information
- Help with shopping
- Know the signs & be vigilant
And, in these cold temperatures, keep an eye out for folk walking on frozen paths or roads & offer a helping hand when needed.
