With the winter weather starting to get colder - many of us may be looking for somewhere that we can stay warm, have a chat and find local information and support.

Welcoming Spaces across Doncaster provide a warm, safe, local space for anybody who may need it over the winter period without the expectation of having to spend money.

Parking

Free City Centre Parking this December

This festive season Doncaster Council will once again be supporting City Centre businesses by offering free city centre parking from Friday 2nd December - Friday 6th January 2023 from 2pm at:

  • Markets Car Park
  • St Georges Car Park
  • Colonnades Underground Car Park

We are also offering every Saturday in December free all day parking at Chappell Drive Car Park.

Just a reminder that Council run car parks and on-street pay and display areas continue to be free on Sundays.

Parking in Doncaster

Glory for Local Cricket Team

Doncaster Town Women’s Cricket team have made their way to play in the Premier Division this season.

The team was founded just 8 years ago, with 1 cricketer and a group of hockey players. 8 seasons later they have gone from absolute beginners to Yorkshire Division 1 Champions and will play in the Premier Division next year.

I'm sure you'll join us in wishing the team a huge good luck for the season ahead!

Defib

New defibrillator installed in the communtiy

Local residents have raised funds for a community based defibrillator in Wheatley and Town Ward.

Previously, there were no defibrillators available within a 600m radius of the Family Hub. With 84% of cardiac arrests happening in family homes, the new defibrillator is available in an accessible location for the Wheatley and Town Ward community to access in an emergency.

The project was funded by local residents, Ward Councillors, Wheatley Family Hub, Doncaster Council's Public Health and Stronger Communities Team, as well as Central Children & Young people’s  Action Group.

New Youth Hub - Wheatley

Doncaster Council are currently developing a new Youth Strategy to support children and young people across our Borough, and one of our ambitions is to create safe spaces for young people. Wheatley has been identified to house a new purpose-built Youth Hub.
