The King and Queen Consort's visit to Doncaster - Wednesday November 9

Yesterday was an amazing day in Doncaster as we welcomed Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort.

The visit celebrated our City Status, granted in the summer as part of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

We've picked out some of our favourite images from the day to share with you...

King Charles

Thanks to everyone who lined the streets outside the Mansion House and created such a brilliant Doncaster welcome!

There were around 8,000 more visitors to the city centre than usual!

King and Queen Consort

Once inside The Mansion House, The King and Queen Consort were able to meet some more dignitaries - including the Junior Civic Mayor Evia Shaw-Lewis.

They also signed the Mansion House guestbook and were presented with some specially selected gifts - a Paddington Bear and some local honey...

The King and Queen Consort then took the time to meet some of the many volunteers and charity organisation who play such a crucial role in the Doncaster community.

They were also able to admire some of the royal portraits we have on display at the Mansion House.

Overall, a wonderful day for the CITY of Doncaster!
