Hello there
Welcome to this week's edition of the Your Life Doncaster newsletter, where we round up all of the latest Doncaster news and information from the last week that matters to you.
Take care this weekend
We're sure you've seen the weather forecast. It's going to be hot over the next few days.
Here are some tips to enjoy the sun and also stay safe:
-
Keep hydrated! It's important to have plenty of cold drinks. Try and use a refillable bottle or container as much as you can. Find your nearest refillable stations.
-
Slap on the sunscreen! We all know this one - The sun can be good for us and help with the production of Vitamin D, which is essential for our health but we should also protect our skin before it starts to turn red or burn.
-
Seek the shade! We see so little of the sun at times that we feel like we need to make the most of it when it does appear, but the shade is your friend! In particular, Spend time in the shade between 11am-3pm and take extra care that the kids don't spend too long in the sun.
-
Look out for others! Keep an eye on ill, elderly or very young people and make sure they're keeping cool. Ensure that babies, children or elderly people are not left alone in stationary cars. Check on elderly or sick neighbours, family or friends every day during hot weather.
-
Drive Safe! The hot weather can make road surfaces softer than usual our gritters are out and about spreading rock dust to help.
Let's all enjoy the sunshine and stay safe!
Town Centre Parking
An evening in Doncaster City Centre should not resemble pavements gridlocked with parked cars preventing pedestrian access.
Our Civil Enforcement Officers issued TWENTY-EIGHT Penalty Charge Notices to vehicle owners on Monday alone in areas such as Hall Gate, East Laith Gate, Nether Hall Road and Copley Road.
We know when we will be out in force again, do you?
For any parking concerns, please make contact with the team at enforcementteam@doncaster.gov.uk
Have your say on Levelling Up
We're preparing to apply for Levelling Up funding with areas such as Mexborough, Moorends, Brodsworth Miners Welfare Institute (Woodlands) and Edlington set to be part of the respective bids.

Roadworks Update
The proposed final phase of the A18 Thorne Road improvement scheme is due to start on Saturday 25 June.
All remaining works will be undertaken under a road closure for approximately 10 weeks.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained throughout.
Domestic abuse can happen to anyone
Older people can be particularly vulnerable to abuse from partners and family members who might try to take advantage of, or hurt a person as they grow older or have health problems.
The abuse can take place anywhere. It is domestic abuse and it is not OK. There is support available.
If you think someone you know is being abused there is support available:
