Covid Update

The Government has announced  the next step in its COVID strategy:

  • Free testing for the general public has now ended. People at risk of serious illness from COVID-19, and eligible for treatments, will continue to get free tests to use if they develop symptoms, along with NHS and adult social care staff and those in other high-risk settings.Find more on testing via the government's testing webpage.

  • Spring boosters vaccinations are being offered to the elderly, care home residents and the most vulnerable. Find more on Spring Booster jabs via the government's vaccination webpage .

  • While restrictions are now removed, and most testing reduced, the pandemic is not over. We continue to follow the updated public health guidance to protect themselves and others, particularly those who may become seriously ill if infected with COVID-19.

  • There is no longer a legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive with an LFD or PCR. However, we strongly advise everybody to stay at home and avoid contact with others if you test positive or have symptoms.

Youth Council Raises Awareness of Domestic Abuse

Doncaster Youth Council have been campaigning to raise awareness and #ReduceDomesticAbuse.

Domestic Abuse was voted as the top priority by young people in Make Your Mark 2020 from young people across all areas of Doncaster. Through consultation, the Youth Council identified that coercive and controlling behaviour was of key concern to young people. They have been working with professionals to address this issue, and have developed a high-profile campaign film to inform young people of the signs of coercive control, which will be available to view in both of Doncaster’s cinemas across April 2022. These signs will also be projected onto bus stops across Doncaster as posters.

Watch the film

The Youth Council have also collaborated with local Artist, Natasha Clarke, to produce an abstract art piece which will symbolise the emotional repercussions of Domestic Abuse. This will be featured in the Danum, Gallery and Art Museum in the near future, so look out for that!
