Doncaster Summer Staycation 2021
Our summer offer for families is finally here!
What is Doncaster Summer Staycation?
Doncaster Council has partnered up with local providers, community and voluntary groups to bring children and young people a summer jam-packed full of activities!
This year, our offer includes universal activities for all children and young people, from primary to post-16, as well as activities supported by the Department for Education Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, for children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
How will it work?
Activities will be available to book onto through our Summer Staycation webpage.
Many activities are available to book onto now, but keep checking the page as new activities will be added throughout the summer. Please note, there will be NO cut-off point and you can book onto activities, classes and clubs all summer long; but spaces are limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.

Our Wider Offer
Alongside our HAF programme, we are also offering an assortment of activities, workshops, work experience and mentoring opportunities for young people of all ages!
Active Fusion Active Fusion will be delivering Fusion Camps in 12 locations across Doncaster throughout the summer holidays!
These camps are aimed at all 4-12 year olds and are a chance to keep active while socialising through the six-week break.
Children who are eligible for free school meals can receive a funded place at any Active Fusion camp.

Active Lives, Active Communities
The Kixx Community Staycation programme are delivering a wide variety of activities, including sports such as football, cricket, martial arts, basketball, dance and gymnastics.
The programme is taking place between Monday 26th July until Friday 27th August, at the following locations:
- Rossington Main Football Club, Oxford Street, Rossington
- Armthorpe Welfare Football Club, Church Street, Armthorpe
- Bentley Colliery Cricket Club, Arthur Avenue, Bentley
Kixx Communtiy also have We Can Grown attending to deliver vegetable growing activities, including designing and making your own fruit and vegetable smoothies, making your own plant pots, planting your own vegetables and demonstrations for all the family, including easy to cook at home recipes.

Camp Doncaster
This summer Flying Futures presents 'Camp Doncaster', an active camp with loads of activities including; football, rugby, dancing, cricket & boxing.
Through our local partnership we will be delivering lots of activities across Doncaster, including communities and venues at:

- Thorne & Moorends
- Bentley & Toll Bar
- Hatfield
- Cantley
- Intake, Wheatley & Armthorpe

Mentoring over summer with Worth Unlimited and their Relax Programme for 14-18 year olds
Worth Unlimited are offering a mentoring offer for young people aged 14-18 with issues around anxiety or stress, to help support them through the summer.
The offer is available online and face to face covering topics like: What is anxiety? Managing anxiety and stress; Healthy lifestyle; Mindfulness; Managing emotions; Techniques and going forward.

Dragons Den Enterprise Challenge and Lived Stories Project in Hexthorpe
Two exciting opportunities running in Hexthorpe with RedEverywhere.
The first is a Dragons Den Enterprise Challenge, that will support young people in developing and pitching ideas and in the process develop a range of essential life skills and a greater understanding of the skills it takes to set up your own business. The programme will for 6 afternoons across the school holidays, starting on the 23rd July.
The second Lived Stories project is an opportunity for young people to tell their story of the pandemic. How have they got through this challenging spell, how has it impacted on them. The programme will run for 8 sessions across the school holidays, the young people’s stories will be brought together into a hard backed book they will each receive a copy of.

Women into Stem - Years 9-13, 9th–12th August
Join Work-Wise in a variety of locations across Doncaster to learn all about the opportunities available for young women wishing to pursue a career in STEM. Doncaster Opportunity Area, in Partnership with Doncaster Council have funded the opportunity so it is available to Doncaster students free of charge. Only 20 spaces on each course.

BAME Young people into STEM – Years 9-13, 16th–19th August
Join Work-Wise in a variety of locations across Doncaster to learn all about the opportunities available for young people from BAME backgrounds wishing to pursue a career in STEM. Doncaster Opportunity Area, in Partnership with Doncaster Council have funded the opportunity so it is available to Doncaster students free of charge. Only 20 spaces on each course.
